git automatic deployment to live server:post-receive not working

I've really fed up with this problem,

Trying to setup automatic git deployment with git post-receive using this tutorial

Everything setuped as per the tutorial but the post-receive is not working

#!/bin/sh
git --work-tree=/var/cushbu/api --git-dir=/var/nodejs/repo/api.git checkout -f

var/cushbu/api is my directory

Permission status of post-receive

-rwxrwxr-x 1 ec2-user ec2-user 88 Apr 20 09:21 post-receive
