How to import and attach ide to generator-angular-fullstack

I am having issues on how to configure the gulp serve build to VS or Webstorm. everything keeps breaking when it hits any imported module.
Do you know of any 101's on how to configure gulp-cli to debugging / build in either of these IDE's Thanks
