How do I create a clickable link in common terminal emulators?

At my last workplace the senior dev had put together a big Nodejs build system with Grunt and Bower and all the buzzwords of the time. When running grunt-serve or grunt-watch, it would print a clickable link in the terminal emulator. This link worked in both Ubuntu 10.10(?) and Arch, but no other links I saw in the terminal were clickable, leading me to believe it was some Node sorcery.

How could this have been achieved?
